Dr. Xi Zheng earned his Ph.D. in Software Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015. Between 2005 and 2012, he was the Chief Solution Architect for Menulog Australia. Currently, he occupies several leadership roles at Macquarie University, Australia: Director of the Intelligent Systems Research Group (ITSEG.ORG), Director of International Engagement in the School of Computing, Senior Lecturer (comparable to an Associate Professor in the US), Deputy Program Leader in Software Engineering.

His research areas include Cyber-Physical Systems Testing and Verification, Safety Analysis, Distributed Learning, Internet of Things, and the broader spectrum of Software Engineering. Dr. Zheng has successfully secured over $1.2 million in competitive funding from the Australian Research Council (2 Linkages and 1 Discovery) and Data61 (CRP) projects focused on safety analysis, model testing and verification, and the development of trustworthy AI for autonomous vehicles. He has been recognized with several awards, including the Deakin Industry Researcher Award (2016) and the MQ Early Career Researcher Award (Runner-up 2020).

His academic contributions include numerous highly cited papers and best conference paper awards. He has served as a Program Committee member for leading Software and System conferences, such as FSE (2022, 2024) and PerCom (2017-2024), and as PC chair for IEEE CPSCom-2021 and IEEE Broadnets-2022. Additionally, he has taken on the role of associate editor for ACM Distributed Ledger Technologies and editor for the Springer Journal of Reliable Intelligent Environments. In 2023, Dr. Zheng is a visiting professor at both UCLA and UT Austin and co-founder of the international workshop on trustworthy autonomous cyber-physical systems.

Dr Pan obtained PhD in Computer Forensics from Deakin University, Master of Science from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, now a senior lecturer in Cyber Security at Deakin University. Specialized in Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence applications. Published more than 30 high-quality papers in top journals and conferences (IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, IEEE transactions on Industrial Informatics, Scientific Reports, ICDM). Reviewer for top journals and conferences (IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, ACISP).

Industry Project Supervisor: Automated Software Debugging and Machine Learning

Dr Mengshi Zhang is a Research Scientist at Facebook. Mengshi obtained his master's and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Before that, he received his bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2014. At UT Austin, he was a member of the Software Verification Validation and Testing Laboratory led by Prof. Sarfraz Khurshid. His research interests lie in Automated Software Debugging and Machine Learning.

Professor Jian Yang is a full professor at the School of Computing, Macquarie University. She received her PhD in Multidatabase Systems area from The Australian National University in 1995. Before she joined MacquarieUniversity, she worked as an associate professor at Tilburg University, Netherlands (2000-2003), a senior research scientist at the Division of Mathematical and Information Science, CSIRO, Australia (1998-2000), and as a lecturer (assistant professor) at Dept of Computer Science, The Australian Defence Force Academy, University of New South Wales (1993-1998).

Professor Jian Yang has published papers in international journals and conferences such as IEEE transactions, Information Systems, Data & Knowledge Engineering, CACM, VLDB, ICDCS, CAiSE, CoopIS, CIKM, etc. She has served as a program committee member in various international conferences such as ICDE, CAiSE, ER, CoopIS, ICSOC, BPM, ICWS, SCC, WISE, WAIM, etc. She is also a regular reviewer for journals such as IEEE Transactions on Knowledge & Data Engineering, Data & Knowledge Engineering, VLDB Journal, IEEE Internet Computing, etc. She has served as conference/program co-chairs of ICSOC and BPM. Currently, she is on the steering committee of the International Conference on Service Computing (ICSOC).

Her main research interests are: social network, big data analytics, web service technology; business process management; interoperability, trust in social networks, and e-commerce.

Dr Yipeng Zhou is a lecturer in computer science with the Department of Computing at Macquarie University and the recipient of ARC DECRA in 2018. From Aug. 2016 to Feb. 2018, he was a research fellow with the Institute for Telecommunications Research (ITR) of the University of South Australia. From 2013.9 to 2016.9, he was a lecturer at the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Shenzhen University. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Institute of Network Coding (INC) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from Aug. 2012 to Aug. 2013. He won his Ph.D. degree and Mphil degree from Information Engineering (IE) Department of CUHK respectively. He got a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).

Dr Alireza Jolfaei received a Ph.D. degree in Applied Cryptography from Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia. He is an Assistant Professor in Cyber Security at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. Before this appointment, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Federation University Australia and Temple University in Philadelphia, USA. His current research areas include Cyber Security, IoT Security, Human-in-the-Loop CPS Security, Cryptography, AI, and Machine Learning for Cyber Security. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles on topics related to cybersecurity. He has received multiple awards for Academic Excellence, University Contribution, and Inclusion and Diversity Support. He received the prestigious IEEE Australian council award for his research paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security. He received a recognition diploma with a cash award from the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society for his publication at the 2019 IEEE IES International Conference on Industrial Technology. He is a founding member of the Federation University IEEE Student Branch. He served as the Chairman of Computational Intelligence Society in IEEE Victoria Section and also as the Chairman of Professional and Career Activities for IEEE Queensland Section. He has served as the guest associate editor of IEEE journals and transactions, including IEEE IoT Journal, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Applications, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence. Dr Xuyun Zhang is currently working as a senior lecturer in the School of Computing at Macquarie University in Sydney. He worked as a lecturer at the University of Auckland during 2016 ~ 2019 and a postdoc researcher in the Machine Learning Research Group at NICTA (National ICT Australia, now Data61, CSIRO) during 2014 ~ 2016. He got his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Technology from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2014, and his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in the same major from Nanjing University in 2011 and 2008, respectively.

His research interests mainly include privacy-preserving big data sharing and mining, secure machine learning and cybersecurity, cloud/edge computing and big data analytics, etc. He has published over 90 refereed academic papers on high-quality and influential conferences and journals in the abovementioned areas, such as IEEE TPDS, TKDE, TC, TSE, TII, JSAC, and ICDE. His research work was well recognised through a New Zealand Royal Society Marsden Fund (Fast Track), and The University of Auckland ECREA (Early-Career Research Excellence Award). He was also a winner of Chancellor's Award for Best Ph.D. Thesis at UTS in 2014, and the prestigious Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Student Abroad in 2012. So far, he has received several external or internal research funds with a total fund over AUD$600K.

Xiao Liu is currently Associate Head of School (International) and Senior Lecturer at the School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Xiao received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia, 2011. Xiao started his research in the area of Software Engineering and Distributed Systems with the focus of workflow applications since 2005. Dr Sheng Wen received his Ph.D. degree from Deakin University, Melbourne, in October 2014. Currently, he has been working full-time as a senior lecturer at the Swinburne University of Technology. Before this, he first worked as a research fellow and then a Lecturer in Computer Science in the School of Information Technology at Deakin University from the year 2015. Dr. Wen manages several research projects in the last three years. Since late 2014, Dr. Wen has received over four (4) million Australian Dollars' funding from both academia and industries, including ARC Linkage Projects and CSRIO-Defence Joint Projects. Dr. Wen is now the Program Leader for System Security & Blockchain in Swinburne Cybersecurity Lab.

Tianyi Zhang is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Purdue University. Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. He worked with Dr. Elena Glassman to build interactive systems that help domain experts explore and make sense of large collections of complex data, e.g., health records and code corpora. He received his Ph.D. from UCLA in 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Miryung Kim.

Dr. Huai Liu is a Lecturer in Department of Computing Technologies at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. Dr Xiwei Xu is a senior research scientist within Data61’s Architecture & Analytics Platforms team, based in Sydney. She is also a Conjoint Lecturer at the School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Her research interests include software engineering, software architecture and business process. Her current research focus is software engineering for AI-based systems and blockchain-based applications. Dr Jiong Jin is an Associate Professor and Academic Director (Research Training) in the School of Software and Electrical Engineering, Swinburne University of Technology. He received the B.Eng degree with First Class Honours in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2006, and Ph.D. degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 2011. Before joining Swinburne, Jiong was a Research Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Melbourne from 2011 to 2013, where he was also affiliated with ARC Research Network on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing (ISSNIP). The research focus of Jiong is on design, control and performance optimization of networked and embedded systems such as Internet of Things (IoT) and networked robotics. More specifically, his research interests include network design and optimization, edge computing and distributed systems, robotics and automation, and cyber-physical systems and Internet of Things as well as their applications in smart manufacturing, smart transportation and smart cities. The goal of his research is to develop foundational theories and tools for concrete understanding and modelling of network system dynamics, to design scalable architecture and distributed algorithms for better performance, efficiency and robustness, and to further provide predictions that can be quantitatively verified by empirical data.
